Apollo XI was the first manned mission to land on the Moon. It was crewed by Neil Armstrong, Michael Collins, and Edwin E. Aldrin, Jr.
The set off from Earth on July 16th 1969 and reached the moon July 20th, 1969. After Armstrong stepped out of the lunar module
he uttered the now famous words of "That's one small step for man, one giant leap for mankind."

The actually words that Neil had meant to say but was partially cut off by static was "Thats one small step for a man, one giant leap for mankind"
With their historic journey the crew successfully left the moon after doing their experiments and headed home to a hero's welcome.
After this historic mission several others would each their own missions to do, but Apollo XI will always live in the history books
as the mission where man first walked on the moon.
